Minjuan Wang, PhD Dr. Wang Minjuan
received her B.A. from Chinese
Literature, Beijing University
(1995); M.A. in Comparative Literature,
The Pennsylvania State University
(1997); and Ph.D. in Information
Science and Learning Technologies
from University of Missouri-Columbia
(2001).
Minjuan was a research coordinator for the
Center for Technology Innovations in Education
at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She
also worked as an instructional design consultant
for PricewaterhouseCoopers, and collaborated
with Motorola University in conducting research
and evaluation on the Internet-based Expeditions
(iExpeditions) program.

Currently, she teaches Methods of Inquiry,
Instructional Design, Technologies for Course
Delivery, and Technologies for Teaching at San
Diego State University. Her research specialties
focus on the sociocultural aspects of online
learning (e.g., engaging learning with emerging
technologies, gender and cultural differences
in online collaboration) and technological interventions
in language and literacy education. She has
peer-reviewed articles published in Educational
Media International, TechTrend, and the International
Journal of Educational Technology. She has also
published several book chapters on engagement
in online problem solving, informal learning
via the Internet, and effective learning in
multicultural and multilingual classrooms. Her
paper on Gender, discourse style, and equal
participation in online learning won an outstanding
paper award from E-Learn 2002: world conference
on E-learning in corporate, government, healthcare,
and higher education.
