Video Summarization and Semantics Editing Tools Research in BTExact

Dr.Li-Qun Xu joined BT Exact Research(www.btexact.com) of British Telecommunications PLC in 1996 where he is currently a Principal Research Scientist and Project Manager in its Content and Coding Lab(CCL). He earned his BSc in Electronic Engineering, MSc by research in Communication Systems, and PhD in Information Engineering,in1982,1985 and 1988,respectively,all from Southeast University,Nanjing,China. He is a member of British Computer Society since 1995, member of IEEE Signal Processing and Computer Societies since 1996.

He is mainly responsible for CCL's research activities in the broad areas of Visual Information Processing,including multimedia content analysis and indexing, robust object segmentation/tracking for intelligent visual surveillance,people behaviour and event analysis,facial feature tracking and facial animation for effective mobile video communications,3D vision techniques and image-based rendering for telepresence working environment.

He will make a lecture “Video Summarization and Semantics Editing Tools Research in BTExact” on Mar 30,2004, at 6th Floor, Haoran High-tech Building, Shanghai Jiaotong University.
